15 Bible Verses for Pregnancy Loss and Healing

Pregnancy loss can leave you asking questions you never expected to ask.

Where is God?

Why did this happen?

Does He see my pain?

If you've experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, or the heartbreak of infertility, you may find yourself feeling forgotten by God. You may know the right verses in your head but struggle to feel them in your heart.

If that's where you are today, I want you to know something:

God is not distant from your grief.

He is near to the brokenhearted, even when His presence feels hard to find.

These Bible verses for pregnancy loss are not quick fixes or easy answers. They are gentle reminders of God's comfort, faithfulness, and presence in the middle of pain.

When Grief Makes You Feel Forgotten

I'm Angelique, and I help Christian women process fertility and infant loss grief so they can find peace by bringing their pain to God on paper.

But it hasn't always been this way.

There was a season when I felt deeply hurt and broken. I tried to stay strong. I told myself to trust God while quietly wondering why this was happening. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and carrying more than I could hold.

Everything changed when I stopped trying to fix my pain on my own and started bringing it honestly before God.

Healing didn't happen overnight.

It came slowly, one prayer and one journal page at a time.

As I learned to trust Him with what I couldn't understand, I began to recognize His presence in places I hadn't noticed before—not only in the joyful moments but also in the middle of heartbreak.

If you're struggling today, my prayer is that these scriptures will remind you that God sees you, knows your pain, and walks with you through it.

1. Psalm 34:18

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

This verse reminds us that God moves toward us in our pain, not away from us.

2. Isaiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God."

Even when your future feels uncertain, God's presence remains certain.

3. Matthew 5:4

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Jesus acknowledges grief and promises comfort.

4. Psalm 147:3

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

God is gentle with wounded hearts.

5. Lamentations 3:22-23

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed..."

Every morning brings fresh mercy, even during seasons of loss.

6. Romans 8:28

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..."

This verse does not say your loss was good. It reminds us that God can still work through painful circumstances.

7. John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you."

God offers a peace that is deeper than understanding.

8. Deuteronomy 31:8

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you."

You do not walk this journey alone.

9. Psalm 56:8

"You keep track of all my sorrows."

Not one tear has gone unnoticed.

10. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"The God of all comfort... comforts us in all our troubles."

God's character is comfort.

11. Isaiah 43:2

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you."

Notice that God says when, not if.

He promises His presence through the storm.

12. Joshua 1:9

"Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Even through grief.

Even through uncertainty.

Even through loss.

13. Psalm 73:26

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart."

When you feel weak, God remains strong.

14. Revelation 21:4

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes."

One day God will make all things new.

15. Hebrews 13:5

"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

When grief whispers that you've been forgotten, remember this promise.

You have not.

How to Reflect on Scripture During Grief

Sometimes reading a Bible verse isn't enough because your heart is carrying so much pain.

Try journaling with scripture.

Ask yourself:

  • What does this verse tell me about God?

  • What part of this verse gives me hope?

  • What emotions surface as I read it?

  • What do I want to say to God today?

Writing your thoughts and prayers can create space for healing and honest conversation with God.
